Gaddo Bagnoli, artistic director of Scimmie Nude theatre company, attended Orazio Costa Giovangigli’s Centro di Avviamento all’Espressione and graduated as an actor in 1989 at the Scuola di Teatro in Bologna directed by Alessandra Galante Garrone.
Then, he graduated with professor Meldolesi in Dramaturgy at the Faculty of Arts and worked with Cesar Brie (Eugenio Barba, Odin Teatret), Judith Malina, the Utrecht School of the Arts Jerzy Stuhr, and M. Butchievic of the Moscow Theatre “School of Dramatic Arts” directed by Anatolj Vassiliev.
As an actor, he has been directed by great Italian and international theatre directors, such as Egisto Marcucci, Lele Luzzati, Vito Molinari, Tonino Conte, and Beni Montresor. After that, he decided to devote himself to theatre direction and quit acting. For the past 20 years he directed and produced important plays and projects, collaborated with Beni Montresor at the Verona Arena and developed wide-ranging educational programs to teach new generations of actors (e.g., the program developed at Quelli di Grock acting school in Milan). He was the founder of Scimmie Nude theatre company and of Scimmie Nude School and is its artistic director since its very beginning in 2003.
